Project Campus

Status: Paused

A 3D recreation of Brayford campus at the University of Lincoln designed as a tool for virtual tours, open days and as a gamified learning experience.

A 1:1 interactive recreation of the University of Lincoln campus was underway, with ATB and LAC buildings modelled and interiors begun. Users could walk their avatar around the campus, go into classrooms and speak to academic metahumans (using a microphone and text box).

It featured a number of mini-games and multi-user functionality, so multiple users could walk around the same 3D space on PC/Mac. The project stalled largely due to the scale of the project’s goals and other commitments, meaning it got pushed to the back burner multiple times.

The project MAY be resumed in the future in a reworked scope, but what remains of the project has been converted into learning resources and helped lay the foundations for the virtual gallery concept.
